COURSE IS NOW FULL. EMAIL DIANNE.BETZ@SCOUTING.ORG FOR WAITING LIST.
The purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role by equipping them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities.
Traditionally this is held at the troop level, but, since there are so many new troops starting this year, we wanted to facilitate a council training this year only.
WHO: This course is for every Scout in the troop who will hold a leadership position this year including all elected positions and any appointed positions. In many new troops, this might mean that this course is for every Scout! Adults are invited to attend as observers, but the course is primarily meant for the scouts.
Troops do not have to be fully formed or have had elections yet to send scouts
WHAT: A half-day facilitated training from Council trainers and youth to help new scouts develop the knowledge, skills, and encouragement that they must have to fulfill their new leadership assignments in the troop.
