The IEEE Electron Devices Society invites the submission of nominations for the William R. Cherry Award. This award is presented annually to honor William R. Cherry, a founder of the photovoltaic community.
The nominee must have made significant contributions to the science and/or technology of PV energy conversion, with dissemination by substantial publications and presentations. Professional society activities, promotional and/or organizational efforts and achievements are not considerations in the election for the award.
Please note: The EDS William R. Cherry Award cannot be given to a candidate for the same work for which an IEEE Technical Field Award, IEEE Medal, or other society level award was previously received.
The recipient(s) is awarded a plaque and a check for $5,000, at the IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC) along with a dedicated Cherry Award Talk during the PVSC.
