Terms and Conditions
1. We offer classes for children in aged 5-9 years and 10-14 years.
2. Our classes are scheduled for 75-90 minutes (depending on ages), broken into several segments to ensure that the kids stay interested, but have enough time to learn and cook (and clean up)!
3. If a class is scheduled straight after school, we commence the class with a 15 minute Snack Break, prior to commencing the class. This consists of fresh fruit and a freshly cooked bakery item, made by our staff. Water is available throughout the class at any time for the children to access.
4. Classes are limited to 25 children, broken into small groups of 8-10 to ensure there is adequate supervision for those children that require extra attention, while allowing those that can manage on their own, the creative space to explore and follow the procedures
5. A safety requirement is that your child wears closed in shoes.
6. We request that if you would like your child to bring home their sample, please provide a plastic container to bring home their cooked goodies. We do not provide containers.
7. Each class is staffed by one Presenter and one Assistant, and are required to complete the paid “Working with Children”, NSW police check in accordance with the NSW Office of Communities -Office of the Children’s Guardian.
8. Specific themes are advertised on our web site related to each class. Themes change per term, and are often determined by the interests of current students. A specific recipe may be subject to change without notice determined by resources, product availability, or safety concerns. A similar recipe will be substituted. No refund will be given in this situation.
9. All term class dishes are vegetarian, or fish based for our term classes. This is done to minimise the risk of food contamination.
10. Some holiday classes and “2 Course Mid-Week Meals” will contain meat. These will be pre-advertised to ensure this information is communicated. No meat sample dishes can be taken home to ensure children are not at risk of contamination.
Food Intolerances / Allergies / Special Diets
11. Food intolerances/allergies, and Halal diets can be catered for. If you have specific requirements, we are very happy to cater, but do require at least 24 hours’ notice - prior to the class to ensure your child is adequately catered for.
12. We do request that you inform us on Booking of the specific requirement, so we can ensure that we cater adequately for your child.
13. In the case of a child with a severe allergy , we may request that an experienced caregiver or parent stay in the class, or nearby, to ensure that your child is in experienced hands.
Pricing and Make Up Lessons
14. Classes fees are stated on the current web page, and are paid by the course term, multiplied by the amount of weeks per term. (Eg, $25.00 x 9 weeks = $225.00 per term). Fees paid upfront on the first day of the term, receive a $25.00 discount.
15. Make up classes can be taken at another venue, or a holiday session may be offered, if notice of more than 4 hours is given.
16. If less than 4 hours’ notice of non-attendance is given, the class is forfeited. We do appreciate that kids become unwell throughout the day, which is unfortunate, but preparation is required by our staff throughout the day based on a full class of students.
17. Although the utmost of care is taken and students are taught safety procedures at the commencement of each lesson, no staff member or volunteer will be held responsible for injury sustained at any events held by Kids Love To Cook. Kids Love To Cook as an entity will not be held responsible for injuries sustained by any student whilst in our care. Parents of students who undertake cooking classes do so with the knowledge that the use of sharp implements and heating utensils will be used during some lessons.
