County Board of Elections Office Space Survey
This survey is being conducted to determine the cost of providing the space necessary to conduct board activities. ORC 3501.10 provides that boards of elections may maintain 3 types of office space: the permanent board offices, permanent branch offices, and temporary branch offices. We are seeking information for the various costs associated with the various type of office space that the board of elections may maintain and any other information that you would like to provide that impacts how you county provides office space to the BOE.
The “Board of Elections Annual Expense Reports” filed with the Secretary of State do not adequately reflect the costs for space because in many instances BOEs are not charged for space and consequently do not incur any costs to report. We are collecting this information at the request of several legislators who are exploring ways in which to assist counties with their ever increasing financial pressures.
