Barnard Finance Focus (BFF) Program is an excellent opportunity for Barnard Women to receive information and training designed to strengthen financial knowledge, gain confidence, be prepared for the interview process and have the opportunity to network with five financial institutions. Participation in this program will bolster your chances of receiving an internship and/or full time job offer in the industry.
AGENDA:
 
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 8:30am - 5pm
 
Presentations by Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Citi and JP Morgan Chase on different business divisions including: Wealth and Asset Management, Sales and Trading, Capital Markets, Investment Banking and Mergers and Acquisitions. 
BMO Capital Markets will be hosting resume prep and mock interviews and there will be 30 minute break out and networking sessions throughout the day.
 
Friday September 23  8:30 -1 pm Class Room Instruction by Wall Street Prep 
 
Introduction to the Finance Industry and Valuation.
9:00- 10:30 Accounting in Excel
10:30-11:30 Overview of Valuation
11:30- 1:00  Discounted Cash Flow Analysis
 
2:30-5:00 Structure of Financial Markets Taught by Abe Mastbaum 
 
 
Employer Site Visits TBA
 
The program requires a firm commitment on Friday September 16th and 23rd  from 8am to 5pm, no exceptions.

BARNARD FINANCE FOCUS APPLICATION PROCESS IS COMPETITIVE, REQUIRING A MINIMUM 3.3 GPA, STRONG QUANTITATIVE ABILITY, A PERSUASIVE ESSAY AND DEMONSTRATED INTEREST IN FINANCE.

Attending the September 16th and 23rd sessions.

2. Attending all site visits hosted by the sponsoring employers.

3. Submitting a professional resume to Career Development to use in the training program’s resume book which will be distributed to sponsoring employers.
 
4. Participate in the networking events with sponsoring employers.

5. Be prompt and on time.

6. Actively engage in the coursework as well as learn the information and materials presented.

7. Ask questions and for additional instruction when unsure of the material presented.

8. Adhere to all instructions and deadlines associated with the training.

9. Maintain professionalism in interactions with instructors, employers, BCD staff and peers.

10. Dress in business attire for the evening networking reception with sponsoring employers.

11. Keep an updated and accurate profile, upload resume and other materials in NACElink on an ongoing basis.

12. Respond to post-program career development follow-up.
