APPLICATION OVERVIEW

Barnard Finance Focus (BFF) Program for Juniors is an intensive, one-day classroom-based training program designed to prepare Barnard women who have accepted internship positions or who have participated in the process to learn how to develop a Financial Model inputting historical data and assumptions to project financial statements. At completion, participants will have developed a complete and comprehensive three-statement model using various supporting schedules.
 
Agenda:
 
-Review key Excel skills for financial modeling.
-Learn to format and structure financial models to limit errors and simplify auditing.
-Learn how to present a Financial Model.
-Financial statement model development.
 
This seminar is preceded by an online Crash Course in Excel to ramp participants up to common Excel knowledge ahead of the course.
 
 
As part of the seminar students will receive 12 month access to all-in-one Excel suite of time saving keyboard shortcuts, formatting and auditing tools specifically designed for Financial Modeling.
 
  
  
The program requires a firm one day commitment on Friday April 8th  from 8am to 5pm, no exceptions.
 
 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Barnard Career Development (BCD) is looking for motivated students who are eager to take an active role in their career preparation. Applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:
               
- Current junior with an accepted offer in Finance or Consulting.
- Demonstrated interest in finance, and or participated in the interview process.

If yes, does your laptop have ability to load files to computer via a USB key?
If no, are you able to borrow a laptop to use during this program?

 

I understand and agree to:

1.  Successfully complete the program which includes but is not limited to:

  • Attending the April 8th session.
  • Completion of online Excel Crash Course.

2.  Be prompt and on time.

3.  Actively engage in the coursework as well as learn the information and materials presented.

4. Ask questions and for additional instruction when unsure of the material presented.

5. Adhere to all instructions and deadlines associated with the training.

6. Maintain professionalism in interactions with instructors, employers, BCD staff and peers.

7. Dress in business attire for the evening networking reception with sponsoring employers.

8.  Keep an updated and accurate profile, upload resume and other materials in NACElink on an ongoing basis.

9.  Respond to post-program career development follow-up.

10. Failure to cancel your registration by April 1, 2016 will result in suspension of your NACElink accout.
