Sister Spit (Hosted by Student Life)
Friday, January 22: 7pm - 9pm
In commemorating Martin Luther King Jr., we tend to piecemeal the voices and achievements of women activists into these public celebrations. Student Life, in its contribution to MLK Legacy Week, will be hosting Sister Spit: a night for self-identified women to share poems and narratives centered around activism, equity, and racial justice. In doing so, womens voices will be heard, recognized and celebrated as an important contribution to the larger, social conversation. Poets and storytellers--including students, faculty and staff--are welcomed to this space to breathe, share and shine in this night’s powerful magic.
