FONDATION LES ARTS FLORISSANTS - William Christie

CULTIVATE THE SPIRIT OF BAROQUE

SUPPORT THE MUSICAL, CULTURAL HERITAGE AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OF THE FONDATION LES ARTS FLORISSANTS - WILLIAM CHRISTIE

For more than 40 years, Les Arts Florissants has shared our passion for the art of baroque with the world.

The generosity of our donors allows the Fondation Les Arts Florissants – William Christie to offer multidisciplinary projects, including musical programs, educational and outreach projects, the Quartier des Artistes, the festivals and the preservation of our cultural heritage.

These activities represent an annual budget of 5.5 million euros, of which only 20% is covered by public subsidies.

A FOUNDATION OF RECOGNIZED PUBLIC BENEFIT

In 2017, the Fondation Les Arts Florissants - William Christie was recognized by the French government as a foundation of public interest.

This means that your gift is considered a tax-deductible donation!

EDUCATION & OUTREACH

Les Arts Florissants aims to share its passion for the art of the Baroque with the world.

Invested in the discovery and support of young talents, Les Arts Florissants organizes a broad range of educational opportunities each year for young musicians and gardeners each year. These include:

• The Jardin des Voix academy dedicated to young singers.
Masterclasses in the Quartier des Artistes, led by William Christie or Paul Agnew.
• Professional training with the Juilliard School of New York, the Arts Flo Juniors, and the Jardin Éphémère programs.

Part of our approach to the transmission of music involves reaching new audiences, with a special focus on young audiences. We aim to help them discover Baroque music, its texts and its worlds, thanks to Baroque LIVE for teenagers and family workshops and concerts.

SPRING & SUMMER FESTIVALS

Launched in 2012, the festival, Dans les Jardins de William Christie, grew out of a desire to create an event that would unite baroque music and gardens.

Today, the festival offers over 100 concerts, workshops and presentations, with the participation of over 70 artists, and welcomes over 10,000 spectators.

Les Arts Florissants aims to keep ticket prices very reasonable, allowing all to access the various concerts and programs it offers.

In 2017, the Festival de Printemps was launched, a weekend dedicated to the sacred music of a major baroque composer and held in different ancient churches in the southern Vendée.
