The Lake Travis Education Foundation is currently looking for energetic and committed volunteers - like you - to serve on our Board of Directors and make a difference in the education of our district's children. 

Selected candidates will be committing to the following:

 

1) Commit to serve a three-year term of office

2) Financially support the Lake Travis Education Foundation through meaningful personal giving

3) Be fully aware of the Lake Travis Education Foundation's mission, and commit to sharing that mission with others outside the Foundation

4) Attend and participate fully in board and committee meetings; full board meetings are held monthly, typically 6:30pm on the second Wednesday of each month, and attendance is mandatory

5) Attend and participate in all fundraising events, including the full weekend of the annual gala

6) Represent the Lake Travis Education Foundation at various school and community events

7) Participate in fundraising for the Foundation, to include solicitation of businesses and individuals

8) Stay up to date regarding current Foundation supporters

9) Review and approve the proposed Lake Travis Education Foundation annual operating budget and board funding

Note that our bylaws prohibit directors from serving on certain committees if there is a potential conflict of interest. Specifically, members of the Scholarship Committee may not be related to or have a close personal relationship with a Lake Travis High School student who is graduating during the current year. Directors serving on the Grant Committee may not be employed by the Lake Travis Independent School District nor have any relatives employed by the Lake Travis Independent School District.

Directors choosing to serve on the Scholarship Committee must be available for several consecutive full days in the spring in order to participate in student candidate interviews. 

In regards to Fundraising committees, we’d like to clarify that while you are participating in at least one Fundraising committee, all directors are required to help with preparations and carry-out of all fundraising events. While we understand that conflicts may arise, it is especially important that you make sure you are available for the "Fore the Kids" Golf Tournament (Fall 2024), The Hill Country Turkey Trot (Thanksgiving Day 2024) and the Annual Gala (Spring, 2025) and the Butterfly Brunch/Spring Event (Late Spring 2025).  The Gala, in particular, requires the focus and participation of all directors, so please plan on helping with the event and being available to LTEF that entire weekend.

Selected candidates will be contacted for an interview. Please note that our Board of Directors will approve the slate of candidates during the month of April.
