Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Pocono Mountains United Way's Resource Investment Process!
Pocono Mountains United Way's mission is to engage and mobilize resources to improve lives through accelerated community change. Each year, we utilize a volunteer-led process to make strategic investments in key programs serving the human service needs of residents of Monroe County. Full details can be found in our annual report on our Impact page at https://poconounitedway.org/our-impact/.
Individuals from diverse backgrounds and work experiences volunteer each year for PMUW's Resource Investment Process and we welcome college students all the way up to retirees!
Our process involves two types of reviews, Finance Panel and Program Panel.
The Finance Panel will begin evaluating financial sections of the applications in February. Finance Panel Volunteers should have a financial background and be comfortable reviewing financial documents. Training for Finance Panel volunteers will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 9:00am via Zoom (Those who are not available for the training will receive a link to a recording of the training).
Program Panel volunteers will begin reviewing the program specific aspects of the applications in March. The Program Panel training will take place Thursday, March 6th at 9:00am (Recording will also be available after the training). The 2 panel time frames do not overlap, so a volunteer can participate in both.
Please see the attached volunteer description flyer for each panel to learn more about the panels and the timeline needed for each.
Please complete the form below to indicate your interest in serving as a Resource Investment Volunteer and a United Way staff member will be in touch regarding the upcoming investment process. Thank you for helping our community thrive!
