Using the measures and guidelines provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston, U.S. Figure Skating, and the U.S. Rinks Association, I understand that The Skating Club of Boston has put in place enhanced health and safety measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. I also understand that the Club cannot guarantee that I or my child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Notice to Volunteers

Thank you for offering your volunteer services for the Skating Club of Boston (the “Club”).  We value the generous gift of your time, talent, and personal interest in the mission of the Club.  To ensure that we respect your relationship with the Club, we want you to know how the Club manages volunteers.  Please read the following information carefully and don’t hesitate to contact events@scboston.org with any questions or concerns.
We are grateful for your enthusiasm for the Club but want to be sure you are offering and providing your volunteer services freely without pressure or coercion. Please understand that you may end your volunteer services at any time, and, similarly, we may end your volunteer assignment at any time. Volunteers are not considered to be employees of the Club while performing volunteer services and, therefore, volunteers are not eligible for any benefits (other than those offered by the Volunteer Incentive Program (“VIP program”)) or paid time off.

In offering and providing your volunteer services to the Club, you will not receive and should have no expectation of receiving, any monetary compensation for such services. The VIP program provides preferential parking and event tickets to volunteers who provide event services. You understand that such preferential parking and event tickets may not be converted to cash benefits and do not represent compensation for hours worked.

As a volunteer, you may be required to successfully complete, as determined in the sole discretion of the Club, a background check, including but not limited to a criminal records check and a sex offender registry information check.

We respect and value the work done by our employees and we do not use volunteer services in a fashion that deprives our employees of job opportunities.

In your role as a volunteer, you may have access to or become aware of confidential information about members, donors, or program participants of the Club. You are expected to protect such confidential information and maintain confidentiality at all times during and after your volunteer service.

You have no authority to provide formal supervision or administer discipline to members, program participants, or staff of the Club. You are expected to follow the general supervision and direction of any person to whom you are assigned and to participate in any training requested by the Club.

You have no authority to bind the Club to any legal obligations, nor do you have the authority to make statements on behalf of the Club.

Again, thank you for your valuable contributions to the Club! *
