ACS Kids Zone Attendee Acknowledgment

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has put in place preventative measures to address concerns relative to the spread of COVID-19. Nevertheless, ACS cannot guarantee that its attendees, volunteers, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19 or its variant strains. For those unvaccinated and/or participating in indoor events held or sponsored by the American Chemical Society (“ACS”), “physical distancing” should be practiced and face coverings worn in accordance with the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and any state governmental requirements and guidelines, as applicable, to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19.

ACS strongly encourages all in-person event participants to be 'fully vaccinated' (defined below) before attending ACS events. We recommend that any ACS event participant who is fully vaccinated bring their COVID-19 vaccination documentation or certificate to the event, since ACS reserves the right to request proof of vaccination from any individual claiming to be fully vaccinated prior to attending an ACS event but exhibiting COVID-like symptoms.

  • This guidance applies to COVID-19 vaccines authorized for use and for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (i.e., Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen COVID-19 vaccines), and COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO) (i.e. Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen, Oxford/AstraZeneca, Covishield, Covaxin, Sinopharm/BBIBP-CorV, and Sinovac/CoronaVac), on or before July 24, 2022. The full list of vaccines with final WHO EUL/PQ evaluation status is available hereACS may expand the list of vaccines, provide more specific guidance regarding mixed vaccination dosing, and/or provide additional guidance regarding boosters as prevailing public health guidance evolves. Watch this space for additional details as we get closer to ACS Fall 2022.
  • According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), people are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 two weeks after they have received the second dose in a two-dose series (Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna), or two weeks after they have received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson’s/Janssen).
