USNCO Task Forces: Volunteer Application

Please contact USNCO@acs.org with any questions.

The ACS Society Committee on Education (SOCED) is seeking volunteers to serve on the governing subgroup for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) and its associated task forces. If you are interested in serving, please complete the following form. SOCED membership is required to chair the governing subgroup but is not required for other roles. ACS or AACT membership is required to serve.

Task force members are reappointed annually on a continuing basis. Terms for the governing subgroup are three years. All applications will be reviewed by chairs of the associated task force and/or members of the Society Committee on Education.

Please note that having a paid tutoring arrangement for the Chemistry Olympiad creates a real conflict of interest disqualifying your involvement from coordinating, administering, or preparing the Chemistry Olympiad exams. It also disqualifies involvement on the governing subgroup or any associated task forces.

All members are trusted with exam security throughout the USNCO program - any breach of this trust will result in immediate removal from their role and disqualification of any involved student(s).

The volunteer opportunities are:
