ACS Outreach Summits: Interest Form

ACS is experimenting with a three day in-person program dedicated to (1) helping you help others through science outreach and (2) helping you succeed with ACS. These ACS Outreach Summits are an extension of the Festival Training Institute program and are being piloted for 2023.

Two events are planned for 2023:

Summit 1: Washington DC, USA. Oct 2 - 4, 2023

Summit 2: Delhi, India. Nov 6 - 8, 2023

Please submit your interest for either summit by September 1, 2023

Up to 30 people may be invited to attend each event, and approximately 10 people per event will receive full, domestic, economy-class travel support from ACS.

For these first events, only volunteers based in the US or India will be selected.

Even if you are not selected, please join us for our virtual ACS Chemistry Outreach Meetup. These will follow in-person events and are open to anyone, although registration is required. Learn more about these virtual Chemistry Outreach Meetups here.

Coordinators of Chemists Celebrate Earth Week and National Chemistry Week; coordinators for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad; winners and applicants for international Chemistry Festival grants; domestic and international Student Chapters; and interested individuals are all invited to apply!

Involvement with ACS
Alignment of what is desired from the summit with the planned program
Plans to apply what is learned

Travel Support

Based on US government per diem rates for 2023 we estimate travel costs for participants will be roughly $1700 for the DC summit and $850 for the Delhi summit. We estimate domestic flights will cost $500, and so total travel would be roughly $2200 for the US summit and $1400 for the Delhi summit
